Elissa Bogos is a freelance photographer and video journalist based in Kabul, Afghanistan. She moved to Kabul in 2007, where she began working as the assistant photo editor of Aina Photojournalism Institute and a freelance editor for Kabul Weekly newspaper. Her photographs and video have since been published internationally by The BBC, The Guardian, The New York Times, The Associated Press, EurasiaNet, Montreal Gazette, and The Huffington Post, among others. In 2010, she directed, filmed and edited a 45-minute a documentary about a group of six illiterate young men from Southern Afghanistan struggling to get jobs and an education.
