Maramures Youth

Davin Ellicson, (b. 1978) is an American photographer based in Bucharest, Romania. He is working on a long-term project about the transformation of rural life in Eastern Europe as the European Union expands.

He has photographed since 2000 in the Maramures region of northern Romania-the most traditional area of Europe-and lived and farmed with a family for a year there in 2003. Davin is now pursuing stories throughout the Balkans.

His work has appeared in Blueeyes Magazine, DU and Intermediair among others and a portfolio of his Maramures project is included in the recently released EAST book by the Regina Maria Anzenberger Agency. Davin is represented by Anzenberger in Vienna: http://www.anzenberger.com
