Davin Ellicson, (b. 1978) is an American photographer based in Bucharest, Romania. He is working on a long-term project about the transformation of rural life in Eastern Europe as the European Union expands. Davin has photographed since 2000 in the Maramures region of northern Romania—the most traditional area of Europe—and lived and farmed with a family for a year there. He is now pursuing stories throughout the Balkans.

Davin has completed assignments for The International Herald Tribune, Courrier Japon, Bloomberg News and Intermediair Magazine. He also works for various NGOs including Leslie Hawke’s Ovidiu Rom in Bucharest.

His work has appeared in The New York Times, Der Spiegel, Die Presse, TAZ, DU Magazine, Blueeyes Magazine and Vision Magazine and the books EAST and This Day of Change.

Davin was included in American Photography 23. In 2008, he received an honorable mention in Jen Bekman’s Hey, Hot Shot! Contest and was nominated for PDN’s 30. Recently, he was also nominated for next year’s Joop Swart Masterclass. Davin is represented by Anzenberger and Wonderful Machine (US).
