Born and raised in a Midwestern trailer park. Graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism and B.A. in Int’l Studies (Latin America emphasis) from University of Missouri-Columbia. Interned with U.S. News & World Report after graduation, then freelanced in D.C. afterwards.

Family, barbecue, cicadas, clean air and a Corvair draw me back home on occasion. Lived in Mexico, learned Spanish. Now living and working in Munich, Germany.
