Joshua Kraemer is a freelance documentary photographer/videographer focusing on countries in transition and conflict, as well as travel and environmental issues. His colorful and thought provoking documentary approach is also an exciting fit for film stills, commercial, and corporate projects requiring location shooting, and candid portraiture with dynamic natural lighting.
After graduating from Ryerson University’s Image Arts: Film program, he began freelancing internationally in 2005 and has since photographed in Jamaica, St.Kitts & Nevis, Lesotho, Swaziland, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, and South Korea. An early internship at The Phnom Penh Post in Cambodia – where his assignments nation-wide disclosed stories of people affected by war, landlessness, development, corruption, and HIV/AIDS – set the tone for his future work. He has returned to Cambodia several times to train local human rights monitors in photography. In 2006, he was exhibited at the International AIDS Conference in Toronto.
