Tobie Openshaw is a South African-born DOP/producer/photographer who has been working in video and photography for over 20 years. He has a day job teaching journalism and videography, while continuing to do personal video and photo projects. Tobie has collaborated with fellow Lightstalker Kloie Picot on several projects with subjects ranging from Tsunami relief to the Middle East conflict. Their documentary film “Shots that Bind – Palestinian Photojournalists in Nablus” won Best Cinematography award in the Documentary section of the New York Independent Film And Video Festival. Best known for his long-running work documenting the unique “betelnut beauties” of Taiwan, he has held several successful exhibitions, was published in various local and international publications including the LA Times, and has made numerous TV appearances as the foremost authority on the subject.
