About

After retiring from a career as a serial entrepreneur, I chose to spend all my waking moments creating still and and video portraits of people I find interesting. I’ve been a photographer since I was given an Exacta and discovered TriX and Diafine in the mid-1960s. I now shoot with a Leica M8 and a pair of Panasonic HVX-200s. I have a multi-purpose crew that serve as gaffers, grips, location audio and second camera for video and as the lighting crew for location still shoots.

Recent projects include a popular video podcast and web video site called SomethingCooking.TV (http://SomethingCooking.com), presenting signature recipes prepared by top chefs from the best restaurants in the Northeast.

We’ve recently started a new venture, Atlantic Journal (http://AtlanticJournal.com), an online publication with investigative journalism on topics impacting the people who live on the edges of the North Atlantic. We will be combining our video and photos with stories written by our staff reporters and freelance journalists. The business model steals some ideas from ITunes. We will have a lot of free content, but in depth coverage will be charged by the article at fees ranging from $.25 to $1.00 per article. 60% of the revenue goes to the author, or, if Atlantic Journal provides a negotiated advance on revenues from the article, the percentage is 40%. We’re planning a launch for the publication in mid-2008 and we’re continuing to look for reporters interested in participating.

When my wife Barbara and I aren’t working, we can be found sailing on the coast from Boston to Nova Scotia (http://barbara-ann.com).
