The gang members live on hanging out in the streets of the compund and waiting for the sun to set. For some it is time to give in to vices, but to others it is their time with with their families.

The younger generation of gang members get hooked on sniffing glue because of it's chemical stimulation to their impoverished bodies. But to them this is their escape from hunger, family problems, abuse and other forms of troubles that they want to get away from.

Former gang members in downtown Manila established a new brotherhood for unity, to end to violence amongst them. They are still marked by their past. Living in a former dumpsite, non governmental agencies started constructing housing facilities in the area but they remain to be outcasts in their own society. Not until the death toll of their "brothers" started rising, they initiated to stop all forms of agetation to the rival gangs and the authorities.

Kryt, one of the group's senior leader, spends the afternoon watching cartoons and other children's shows. He says that since he didn't finish high school, this is his way of re-learning the things he missed in school.

A former senior gang member had a complete turn around after he had children of his own and was forced to look for a job to be able to provide his family with basic neccesities. Most of the senior members had to leave the group due to personal reasons.

Children look up to gang member as modern day heroes for their bravery in fighting rival gangs. The image that gangs members show around in the compound influences the children a lot risking them into joining them when they are of age.

Rapping and Dancing also plays a big role in gang life in Baseco compound. Influenced mostly by African-American gangsters in the States, ther render their own style of body movement and lyrics to the songs.

Initially developed into a world class resort, what use to be pristine white sands is now tainetd with garbage and waste from the decades of pollution in Baseco compound.
