<title>Singaporean Indians buy vegetables at a Little India's vegetables stall. Singapore was founded by Stamford Raffles, an English former ruler of Java who felt frustrated by having to hand it back to Holland after the end of the War of the Sixth Coalition and, in 1819, established this new colony to compensate the loss.
The Malay population is original from the area but the Chinese and the Indians were recruited by Raffles to build what he planned to be one of the most prosper territories in the world.
Singapore is located north of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, off the southern tip of the Malaysian peninsula.

<title>At the Mogpog cockfighting arena, in the Philippine island of Marinduque, the referee drops two cocks to the ground, a way of forcing them back to fight and judge which one's in better condition.
Cockfighting is called &quot;Sabong&quot; in Tagalog and is usually held during Sundays and holidays especially in the provinces. In the Philippines, curved blades that extend to as long as three inches are attached to one or both legs of the roosters. The blades are usually made from high quality steel. There are rumored human fatalities from accidental cuts and injuries from these blades while handling the rooster in the cockpits. Cockfighting is a gambling sport in the Philippines.</title>

<title>A group of Mascarados waits outside the Cavalhodromo for permission to &quot;invade&quot; the pitch. Held during the dry and hot season of the Brazilian Central West region, the Cavalhadas of Pirenopolis can be both fun and punishing to its Mascarados. The heat is a real but exaggerated excuse for them to drink a lot of beer.
The Cavalhadas are a local Medieval Crusades reconstitution rehearsed for the first time in 1826 by portuguese priest Manuel Am&#239;&#191;&#189;ncio da Luz' inniciative. Due to a restricted number of roles to perform, at first, the Cavalhadas couldn't admit everyone wanting to participate. This annoyed most of the city's inhabitants. Protests resulted in the adaptation and forced integration of the &quot;Mascarado&quot; or &quot;curucucu&quot;.</title>

Jeepneys (half jeeps, half buses) can be found throughout the Philippines. When the Americans left the country in 1945, after having won the II World War and liberated Asia from the Japanese, many jeeps where sold to Philippine locals who converted them in buses thus creating their private businesses on wheels. Colorful, creative decorations came next followed by the beginning of national production of these polluting vehicles that roam the streets charging from seven to thousands of Pesos per passenger depending of the length and type of journey.</title>
