Tanny Dobbelaar asked me to photograph skin patients for a series of interviews she wanted to make with people who have a chronic skin disorder. Our two year collaboration resulted in a Dutch language book entitled 'Heftig Vel' . The publication includes eighteen 30x30cm full color photographs with interviews and an essay written by Tanny Dobbelaar. The book was designed by Sybren Kuiper, and was chosen as one of the best designed books of 2002 in The Netherlands as well as receiving an honorable mention for the 'Schonste Bucher aus aller Welt 2002'. The book and exhibition were reviewed in the art section of the following Dutch newspapers: NRC Handelsblad, De Volkskrant.
