After months of work with no pay, Castro has not been able to recoup his wages and is in dire need of help to support his family. He operated heavy machinery for an excavation company in Park City, Utah and was not paid by his employer for several months. The Park City Police Department receives about 50 wage claim complaints per month, usually from Latino workers in situations similar to that of Casto, but during the month of October, 2008, the number reached 90. The police believe this increase was caused by the recession.
