<title>&quot;A long walk in Tohoku&quot; (by Gianni Giosue)</title>
    <link>http://www.lightstalkers.org/galleries/contact_sheet/31631</link>
<description>In March 2011 after the earthquake which hit Japan, I went to the areas affected by the Tsunami and produced a first series of photos.
In August 2011 I went back to the areas and then I walked for 11 days from Sendai to Kamaishi. A total of 210 km.

I wanted to witness the reconstruction process and get closer to the people.
Here is the second chapter of my Tsunami project.</description>

On Agust 11th, 5 months after the quake I set on a personal journey on foot from Sendai to Kamaishi, about 210 Km to document the evolution of the situation. A young man from Sendai came to Kamaishi to volunteer for the reconstrucion of the city. He has been sleeping on the second floor of a house affected by the tsunami for over 20 days. A small cat is keeping him company. Another danger in the air is the asbestos released when the old houses were destroyed. 22 August, 2011.
