http://www.lightstalkers.org/galleries/contact_sheet/31882 Hoping to feel the earth on his feet, the Zamany family from Afghanistan traveled to Pakistan and then to India after getting Zalmi Zamanay the head of the family treated in Afghanistan. Zalmi who is 53 years owns a rice shop in Mazar e-Sharif the second largest city in Afghanistan, now being handled by his 15year old son. He was driving his car, along with his 3 friends, when an unfortunate tragedy of a car accident took place. He lost two of his friends; one was only injured while Zalmi broke his Femur bone of the left leg and Radius & Ulna of the left arm. With no feeling other than pain his family first got him treated in a reputed hospital in Afghanistan named Rall-e Hospital, bearing all the expenses with a result so disappointing, they decided to journey to Pakistan, with the help from extended family members and other friends. While in Pakistan, Norway Hospital in Ottoman, Zalmi’s daughter Omid who is only 16 years old, willingly became the hope and support of her father, with sadness in her eyes she tells that “the doctors failed to cure my father and had no answer for their failure in the operation”. Disheartened and depressed, being bed ridden for almost 6 months Zalmi was brought to India with the hope, that after the operation in The Rockland Hospital, Delhi he would be able to see his family and himself smiling. Zalmi, filled with grief, smiles on the bed only when he sees his 3 years old son playing near him. He, in Delhi lives in a small one room flat with his wife-Sedeqa, Daughter-Omid and Halham-his 3yr old son. The doctors of Rockland Hospital are very hopeful of the operation, the result on 17th December 2011, will determine the success of his operation, encouraged by the optimism of the doctors and friends in Delhi, Omid prays to god to gift her father his healthy life again. When asked Zalmi what he would want to do after he will be able to walk he says that “I dream and would want to go and pray and recite the holy Quran at the Hazrat Ali Shrine (Blue Mosque), Mazar-e- Sharif, Balkh Province.
