A North American alligator recuperates Monday after being pulled out of White River over the weekend by volunteers doing a river clean-up. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources was called and took the animal to Night Stalkers Pet Emporium because they have facilities to handle reptiles. Ed Roemer, owner of Night Stalkers, said the reptile was bathing in a sulfate solution to cleanse it of bacteria, while basking in the glow of full-spectrum lights that simulate sunlight. Haggarty lives on the top floor of the apartment building. Several of her students help her with housekeeping including providing her with water. Muriel and her host mother and daughter laugh together. Muriel lived with this family through the three months of training. She was thrilled to find out that she had placed to serve in the same community, so now she lives in her own place, but within walking distance of her host family, so she visits often.
