Karatara is a small town in the rural area of the Garden Route in South Africa. It was originally formed as a village in which the then government would resettle the forestry workers then active in the surrounding forest areas when the operations were closed. There are many opinions about this town, some say that the then government wanted a out of the way place to hide the poor white people of the area.
