Explosive Ordnance Disposalmen Gerry Rodocker, Jim Hilbert, and Shannon Wenzke, all members of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Six (EODMU-6), Detachment 14, check their gear prior to an M4 carbine and M9 pistol proficiency shoot on the fantail of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65). Enterprise is currently on a scheduled six-month deployment in support of the Maritime Security Operations, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Members of EODMU-6 are suspended from an HH-60H Seahawk during a Special Purpose Insertion/Extraction (SPIE) training exercise from the flight deck of Enterprise. SPIE is a method of rapidly inserting or extracting Special Forces from terrain not normally suitable for helicopter landings, in which personnel and equipment are suspended from a line attached to a hovering helicopter.
