http://www.lightstalkers.org/galleries/contact_sheet/4300 Cambodia is a society torn by tragedy, yet its arts and culture have survived. The ancient temples of Angkor serve as a reminder of the first flourishing of art in Cambodia. However, when the Khmer Rouge rose, they attempted to suppress all creative and artistic expression. Since then, art has been neglected in favor of rebuilding a wartorn country, and Cambodia's artists are underappreciated. Many of the visible signs of art are focused on either religious wats or palaces. The Cambodia Living Arts is bringing traditional artforms back to the Cambodian people, and while their efforts often face obstacles, they look forward to a future where all Cambodians can practice
