Bus driver is Guatemala's most dangerous occupation. More than 170 bus drivers were assassinated during 2008. The bus drivers become victims of street gangs who extort money from the drivers in order to let the buses pass through areas where the criminals are present. If the driver cannot afford to pay, his life is in high danger. Victoriano Pineda Rodriguez`s son Waldemar Pineda Rivas (36) was assassinated. Waldemar worked as a bus driver. Victoriano knew that his son feared for his life.

Old and used pipelines are the reason why as much as 50% of the water in El Alto leaks away and never reaches the consumer. Chacaltaya in Bolivia used to be the world’s highest located ski resort, 5300 meters above sea level. Today there is no snow left on top of the mountain. The ice has melted and the skiers are gone. Remaining of the ski lifts is left as a memory of the resort.

In the town of Palca, farmers have for the first time been forced to use chemicals to make their seeds grow. - There is less water from the glacier and the water flowing is colored yellow and black.
