http://www.lightstalkers.org/galleries/contact_sheet/9110 This is a work done between October 2005 and January 2006 where after moving in and living inside some of the East London Squats I tried to portray the life style of common people that search and occupy abandoned buildings and make houses out them. Amongst the squatting population one can find people with several and distinct motivations, from musicians to artists to people that just want to discover themselves and for whom this is a lifetime experience… The day-to-day life as a squatter, the relationships created in that specific reality, the drugs consumption and the squat parties; all of this shows a reality that is seen by many as marginal or even criminal but that is nothing but one more way of living in our modern and packed up metropolis. This comes in the following of my previous works where I’ve been trying to create a map of our contemporary urban society and to show that those same urban modern societies are more and more equal.
