I work out of quiet Traverse City, Michigan.

I’ve been published regionally in Northern Michigan, as well as Nationally in the New York Times, Sierra Magazine, Detroit Free Press, Conscious Choice and Utne.

My personal work has been focused on promoting Fair Trade in the coffee industry with images from Chiapas , Mexico, Bolivia and Rwanda.

I speak fluent Mandarin Chinese and basic Spanish.

Colombia: Safety

I’ll be in Colombia this January and usually take travel warnings with a grain-of-salt, however, Colombia’s big cities consistently come with warnings about crime—organized robberies. I’m not so worried about my personal safety, as I’m worried for my equipment.

Does anyone have any experience? Stories?

I’ll mostly be in the countryside in the South West, but also in Cali and Bogotá?
