Gemma is a Beijing-based freelance Documentary and Reportage photographer.
She has an MA in International Photojournalism and Documentary Photography, studied for in Dalian, NE China in 2007. Prior to this, she studied at Sheffield University (BA Geography) and at Leeds College of Art and Design. She has exhibited at the Lowry in Manchester, National Art Museum of China, Beijing and on the BBC’s Big Screen in Manchester and has published work in the UK and Spain. Recently she contributed photographs and writing to Watercube: the Book, discussing sustainability issues of the National Swimming Centre in Beijing.
Gemma is currently working on a new project about environmental issues in China, with a particular focus on the green movement and environmentalism.
