Happens all the time….it’s part of the aspect of covering immediate news….remember the shot of the boy from Grozny: Nachtwey and Morris both photographed the same boy, same time in Grozny, similar framing too, but slightly different…to sight one famous example…nothing wrong with bruno, jan and joao shooting the same moment….it’s called news!

Interesting, but there’s obviously something very wrong with the title of this thread: I see 3 different images.
And (at least) 2 good photographs.
Since this is absolutely no contest: my vote goes to the photographer who got closest to his subject.

Happens all the time. If this scene was the most interesting scene around at that particular time then its more than obvious that all are photographing it…I hope they were not pushing each other to get the best angle. lol

yesterday i covered a machinist union rally-turned-prayer-“vigil” after a striking machinist was run over and killed crossing a street to a picket line earlier in the day. all three local TV stations were covering the same event, along with dozens of machinists with cameras, and we all shot images of some of the same people.

we do not own the events that transpire in front of our cameras, whether these cameras are pointed at them or not.
