The “returnees” are a story in themselves – but they’re also a good resource for translation, assistance, etc. Most of them are desperate for work, so if you are going to be hiring translators, etc, I would really urge you to hook them up – you should be able to reach them through Bill Herod at the Returnee Assistance Program in Phnomh Pehn.

if you’re looking into a returnee story, you could also look up Srin “Leesha” Jessica. I knew her and her husband well, and she has been a fixer for work on the BBC and for the South China Morning Post magazine. She also knows a lot of the original batch of returnees, many of whom have left Bill/RAP.

The trip have now been postponed till autumn due to risk of malaria for infants but the more time for preparation…

DON’T stay in Denmark. Infants could catch the flu, or cancer, or diabetes, or whatever… ;-)

Malaria is around all year in Cambodia. And so is dengue, and diabetes, and chicken flu, and SRAS, and TB, and AIDS and so much more (but not much more than in Denmark). But then of course there are no mines in Denmark…

Number one killer here is the road (or is it two?) !!!
