I grew up on a small island in Washington State’s Puget Sound and then went to the University of Oregon to run track and field. I studied sports psychology
Somehow I fell into a career in information technology after my athletic career. But at age 30, something didn’t feel right so I sold everything I owned and rode my bicycle 18,500 miles from northern Alaska to the southern tip of South America. The trip took two years. No I balance my work between commercial projects for adventure travel retailers and operators and editorial environmental and travel reportage. For the past three years, I’ve been covering cycling races in Europe from late May-June.
I split my time between Seattle, WA and Colombia.
