Rearviewmirror

Rearviewmirror is a project born from the desire of some young people to spread the photographic culture, which has always been relegated to a marginal position and unfortunately not yet fully exploited. What this magazine aims, among other things, is to broaden the possibility of bringing together young authors, professionals, beginners and anyone who wants to know what happens in this area. Giving space to those who otherwise would not encourage a subjective vision of the world around us.

The photograph not only as a tool to document events but as a means to generate and communicate emotions. In this proposed work will gain new values and a broader. What we like to do is be able to share with all another way of seeing things. Initially the magazine will be widespread in big cities and everywhere there is someone willing to give us a hand. Collaboration in whatever form it occurs is welcome and is behind this project.

The aid and mutual exchange are necessary condition so that this idea can become a reality. What moves this initiative is the desire to participate and share, to know and make something that we think is important to everyone.
The topics to be addressed will not be of a technical nature. The magazine will consist of a series of items that range from reportage photography artistic dall’approfondimento of past masters of short interviews with young authors.

Each entry will be implemented with the assistance of professionals such as curators, critics, journalists. In any case, the language on which we focus more attention will be documentary reportage, the job postings are often accompanied by a brief introduction by the same author.

We chose Rearviewmirror (rear-view mirror) because interprets what we want to tell.
The Italian market is devoid of magazines showing the characteristics we seek. This is saturated with newspapers technicians who lack the appearance that we consider essential: the quality combined with the emotions that can create an image. Our intent is to tell stories through photographs.
The backbone of our magazine will be the photographic reportage: images of large photo accompanied by introductions written on the basis of emotions try in the sun look. These texts will vary depending on who writes them: from the wise screenplay, by newspaper to poetry. This will serve to distinguish from other editorial products. Also included several sections that will make full "Rearviewmirror.

It will have a national distribution and will be targeted at a diverse audience.
In little over a month we received the accession of many famous photographers nationally and internationally. All were enthusiastic about our proposal citing that in Italy and abroad lacked precisely a product of this type. We have collected material well above expectations for quality and quantity.
In parallel we are in contact with journalists, writers, poets who cooperate with us.
All the photographers involved are confident of success of the project.

Rearviewmirror è un progetto che nasce dalla volontà di alcuni giovani di diffondere la cultura fotografica, da sempre relegata ad una posizione marginale e purtroppo non ancora del tutto valorizzata. Quello che questa rivista si propone, tra le altre cose, è di ampliare la possibilità di mettere in contatto giovani autori, professionisti, esordienti e chiunque voglia conoscere ciò che accade in quest’ambito. Dare spazio a chi altrimenti non ne avrebbe, incoraggiare una visione soggettiva del mondo che ci circonda.

La fotografia non solo come strumento per documentare gli eventi ma come mezzo per suscitare e comunicare emozioni. In quest’ottica i lavori proposti acquisteranno nuove valenze e un più ampio respiro. Quello che ci piacerebbe fare è poter condividere con tutti un altro modo di vedere le cose. Inizialmente la rivista sarà diffusa nelle grandi città e ovunque ci sia qualcuno disposto a darci una mano. La collaborazione in qualsiasi forma essa si presenti è la benvenuta e sta alla base di questo progetto.

L’aiuto e lo scambio reciproco sono condizione necessaria affinché questa idea possa diventare una realtà. Quello che muove questa iniziativa è il desiderio di partecipare e di condividere, di conoscere e far sì che qualcosa che riteniamo importante sia alla portata di tutti.
Gli argomenti che verranno affrontati non saranno di carattere tecnico. La rivista sarà composta da una serie di rubriche che spazieranno dal reportage alla fotografia artistica, dall’approfondimento di maestri del passato a brevi interviste a giovani autori.

Ogni rubrica sarà realizzata con il contributo di professionisti del settore quali curatori, critici, giornalisti. Ad ogni modo il linguaggio sul quale si concentrerà maggiormente l’attenzione sarà quello documentaristico di reportage, i lavori pubblicati saranno spesso accompagnati da una breve introduzione dello stesso autore.

Abbiamo scelto Rearviewmirror(specchietto retrovisore) perché interpreta ciò che vogliamo raccontare.
Il mercato italiano è privo di riviste che presentino le caratteristiche che ricerchiamo. Questo infatti è saturo di giornali tecnici che mancano dell’aspetto che riteniamo fondamentale: la qualità combinata alle emozioni che un’immagine può suscitare. Il nostro intento è quindi quello di raccontare delle storie attraverso le fotografie.
La spina dorsale della nostra rivista sarà il reportage fotografico: immagini di grandi fotoreporter accompagnate da introduzioni scritte sulla base delle sole emozioni provate nel guardarle. Questi testi potranno variare a seconda di chi li scrive: dal saggio alla sceneggiatura, dall’articolo di giornale alla poesia. Ciò servirà a distinguerci dagli altri prodotti editoriali. Inoltre figureranno varie sezioni che renderanno completa “Rearviewmirror.

Avrà una distribuzione nazionale e sarà rivolta ad un pubblico eterogeneo.
In poco più di un mese abbiamo ricevuto l’adesione di molti fotografi di fama nazionale ed internazionale. Tutti sono stati entusiasti della nostra proposta adducendo che in Italia ed all’estero mancava proprio un prodotto di questo tipo. Abbiamo raccolto materiale molto superiore alle aspettative per qualità e quantità.
In parallelo siamo in contatto con giornalisti, scrittori, poeti che collaboreranno con noi.
Tutti i fotografi coinvolti sono sicuri della buona riuscita del progetto.
