  <description>Welcome to the LightStalkers group for the VJ Multimedia Workshop. Please use this as a forum outside of the Workshop site to ask fellow participants questions, discuss logistics, etc...

&lt;strong&gt;About the Workshop&lt;/strong&gt;
This is a tuition-free multimedia workshop for visual journalism students and visual journalists laid-off within the past two years. It is tuition-free because our community must strengthen as it goes forward carrying with it the traditions of photojournalism as it transforms into the next generation of storytelling. This is not a time to despair yet so many in our field are throwing in the towel, changing career paths rather than learning to tell stories with these new tools.

Now is the time to celebrate visual journalism and strengthen our methods and philosophy in our community as we go forward as visual storytellers.

Featured Guest so far include, Tom Kennedy, Scott Anger, Pauline Lubens, Grover Sanschagrin, Myung Chun, Dave Labelle, Jim Merithew, Sean Connelley, and Katy Newton.

The workshop is July 30- August 2, 2009 in Ventura, CA. Application is open to all college students and visual journalists who have lost employment over the past two years.
