guesthouse in Cairo and Ankara

Hello,
Does anyone know a decent and inexpensive place to stay in Cairo and Ankara? Also, any recommendations of cool hotels in Calcutta? Thanks! ami

Hi Ami. Here is a link to a nice and cheap downtown hostel in Cairo. I stayed there in this spring for more than 2 weeks and it was fine. One single room should be around 10 US dolars.

Hi Ami – The Windsor hotel is fairly cheap and is in the downtown Cairo area: http://www.windsorcairo.com/mainpage.htm or try looking up the Pension Roma, I think it’s around $7 a night for room and shower.

To heck with the hotels—Ami, if you are bound for Calcutta you must stop at the Kali temple for a visit. If you are lucky, maybe you can time your visit with a major festival. The ritual sacrifice is an awesome sight.

Try the Dahab in Cairo – hostely place but very cool rroftop setting. Might be chilly in the winter though. It’s cenrally located and very cheap and relaxed.
