Guillaume Bonn was born in Madagascar and has covered the African continent for the last decade, travelling everywhere from war-torn Congo to Mogadishu.
He attended the one year full time photojournalist program of ICP in New york
in 1994/95
He received a PDN award from the Influential American magazine Photo district news.
His work has appeared in publications like Newsweek, Time, The New York Times magazine, Conde-nast traveller, Harpers bazaar, Der Spiegel, Outside, Men’s Vogue, US News & World Report, the sunday times magazine and others. He is a regular contributor to The New York Times and Vanity Fair Magazine.
He has directed four film documentaries, worked as a cameraman on “Dying to tell the story”, a 90 minutes documentary which was nominated for an Emmy award.
" Le Mal D’Afrique, a journey into old and new Africa", his first monograph was published in 2006 by Empire editions and a book on Peter Beard “Peter Beard, Scrapbooks from Africa & beyond” based on his documentary also published by Empire. He contributed pictures to the book “Shame of War” published by IRIN, the news body of the United Nations.
