How archival is DVD+R

Can anyone point me in the right direction on finding information on the life of information stored on a DVD+R. I have been burning my images to DVD+R (burnable DVDs) but I have no idea how long the data, i.e. my images will last on the DVD+R.

Does anyone know? Are there web sites that might discuss this topic? How are the digital photographers out there making sure their images just don’t disappear becasue of bad archiving by burning to CD or DVD?

Thanks,

Craig

Craig,

Here’s a short tip list on the EP site on burning CD’s: http://www.editorialphoto.com/resources/cdadvice.asp

I dare say that much of the information will apply to DVD’s also.
