iDisk, for storage?

Does anyone have experience using iDisk for storing files?
A friend recommended it to store vast amounts of files (he uses it for animation). He swears by it… I just swear.

I had a look at it on a trial period but it failed some times during large files. I’d use FTP if it was me.

I use iDisc mainly for synchronizing callendars and the like. It is NOT good for storage since the Mac built-in filetransfer is totally crappy; it can not be stopped, it doesent show progress or speed and the transfer cannot be resumed after break.

There are rumors that there are certain FTP programs that can connect to it but i havent tried it.

If anyone has suggestions for alternative solutions i would apreciate to hear about it.
