My name is Ian McNaught Davis, and I’m a photographer and writer based in Cape Town, South Africa.
I’m especially interested in documentary photography, NGO photography and recording the idiosyncrasies of human behaviour and daily life. I have worked abroad as a cattle drover in the Australia Outback, a carpenter in Borneo and a teacher in Malaysia – travelling has influenced my photographic vision and my perspective of humans and their fascinating similarities within their differences.
I have shot for NGOs, including Operation Smile, The Gu Chu Sum Institute, Ubuntu Africa, Ikamva Labantu, Reach For A Dream Foundation. My work has been featured in exhibitions and several publications, including GQ magazine, Men’s Health, Cape Times, Cape Argus, Die Burger and Beeld.
