Ancient and feisty--the two that come to mind when thinking about this elderly Lobi woman who was treated by medical personnel with the Hanna Project at the Doropo Hospital in Cote d'Ivoire, February 2010. She'd had surgery on her foot after almost losing part of it in a bicycle wreck. Perched up on the bicycle seat as her adult son pedaled the bike, her foot got stuck in the spokes. Upon arrival, doctors performed surgery inserting a metal rod in order to save the toe. She eventually recovered fully, as feisty and full of spunk as before the surgery.
