A Painful Death (Slaughterhouse Cambodia)
Everyday in the afternoon farmers bring their pigs to the slaughterhouse at the outskirts of Siem Reap. The pigs get grouped and numbered and wait until their final moment to come late at night. Killing pigs the Asian style, the brutal way.
Young men, mostly dressed in shorts, do their job as the pigs are brought in one by one. A painful death. It takes about two hours after the pig's final blink to prepare the carcasses for the early morning local markets in and around Siem Reap town. (image by Eric de Vries)
