i photographed this botanical garden where they grow medicinal plants and the best traditionally crafted herbal remedies are made possible. The herbs used in the products are raised in this certified organic garden or handpicked by the gardeners from nearby islands and meadows. They are involved in each stage of production beginning with the planting of seeds all the way through to the mixing, bottling, labeling and shipping of their products. Deb, the lady behind the botanical gardens believes in being of service to her community. Deb lived in Nepal close to three Tibetan monasteries. She was deeply influenced by the Tibetan peoples commitment to ease physical symptoms and mental and emotional upsets through plants, prayer and other spiritual practices. She traveled through Sri Lanka and India.
I was very intrigued by the process of how medicines were made out of these plants using organic and bio dynamic practices and hence decided to document the process and of course Being away from home i was very fascinated and curious to find someone following some of the methods/ practices followed in the Indian sub-continent all they way in Maine..
