In an unprecedented move, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced Dhaka and Chittagong stock-markets shut around 12pm on Monday, as the capital market continues to plummet. Hundreds of investors have taken to the streets in Motijheel and Dilkusha in Dhaka after regulators halted trading. The police and RAB began charging batons to disperse the angry investors.
