A Command Brigade Cadet fainted while standing in formation on the Plain during the Thayer Award parade and presentation for Retired General Frederick J. Kroesen, Jr. at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY on Thursday, September 20, 2007. The Corps of Cadets conducted a formal parade ceremony on the Plain prior to the presentation. Gen. Kroesen served in numerous command positions during his 41 year career in the Army. The Thayer Award, established in honor of Colonel Sylvanus Thayer, the "Father of the Military Academy," is presented to an outstanding citizen whose service and accomplishments in the national interest exemplify the Military Academy Motto: "Duty, Honor, Country."
