On March 11,2011 a magnitude 9.0 earthquake on the Richter scale hit Japan. A tsunami of gigantic proportions followed.
On August 11th, 5 months after the quake I set on a personal journey on foot from Sendai to Kamaishi, about 210 Km to document the evolution of the situation. The waves were so high and went so far inland that some of the debris were stuck in the trees. 16 August, 2011. Gianni Giosue © (image by Gianni Giosue)
