Dhaka, Bangladesh. February 07, 2011 [DrikNEWS] -Activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) clash with the police during a nationwide strike in Dhaka today. Thousands of police patrolled the streets of Dhaka on Monday as a nationwide strike called by the main opposition party paralyzed much of the city. It is reported that at least eight buses were set on fire on yesterday evening, just hours before BNP enforced the strike to protest controversial plans for a new airport, sky-rocketing food prices and fall of shares in Dhaka Stock Exchange.
