This is Sheikh Ma’rouf Street, parallel to Haifa Street. It was always full of people. At the beginning of the occupation, we used to walk down this street if Haifa Street was closed for some reason. But bit by bit, there were fewer and fewer people; less and less movement and life…as in all of Baghdad. Since the Haifa Street sniper arrived, Sheikh Ma’rouf Street has completely emptied of people.
