A brigade of young Cambodian CMAC (Cambodian Mine Action Centre) female deminers are clearing the land of the millions of explosives and anti personal mines still buried in the ground. The Khmer Rouge regime, and after their retreat, the Vietnamese laid these minefields that are still very explosive.
Resulting in Cambodia’s unseen people’s tragedy of the most disabled population on Earth.
CMAC reports that there are between 6 to 8 million explosives still unrecovered.
“I make this work to help my country”, says Dim Sokphea, age 20 years. While the sweat drips of her face.
