South Africa.Thousands of construction workers were on strike around South Africa in July 2009.The workers were protesting following a wage dispute.The strike actions  took place at big stadia and the time might have influenced the completion of buildings and infrastructure put in place for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. According to an agreement between unions and government no one is allowed to strike until 31 October 2010. This makes the current strikes illegal.Most of the strikings workers are represented by the National Union of Mine-workers ( Num) and Building Construction and Alied Workers Union ( Bcawu).
