Bukavu, South Kivu, DRC - The school is giving a never before opportunity to education to orphans like Furaha Zirhumana. 13 years old and the oldest of 6, Furaha returned from to her home village of Walungu after spending time with family members in Bukavu only to find that her parents had been burned alive in their home by neighboring Rwandan Interahamwe rebels. Fearing to stay in the village, she returned to Bukavu to join the thousands of other IDPs with similar stories and live in the slums. (image by Micah Albert)
