Neelam(13) and Nikita Thite(9) at their residence at Tasgaon, Sangli. Their mother, Meena died six years back while their father Shamrao, a construction worker succumbed to Aids seven years back. Both parents were Hiv positive and the children too are positive. Nikita wishes to be a doctor when she grows up. The two girls are currently being taken care of by their grandparents, Akkatai(66) and Pandurang who is 73 years old.
