But as citizens of this nation, it is our responsibility to keep ourselves informed. How much does the new generation know about the bloody war that gave birth to this nation?
This piece is about those birongona mothers, those who live in today’s society without homes, without love, without food, and other tremendous pressure. In 1971, these women suffered from gang rape by the enemy forces and the traitors. Now they are looked down upon in society because of that stigma.
They are still victims of rape by society. The people who have been enjoying independence for the last thirty seven years are the ones who are ostracizing these mothers. In interviews, these women tell us of their plights. One such birongona is Hasna Banu. Here is her story
A victim of rape,abuse and physicaly tortureed by the Pakistani soldiers in1971, at Shirajgong district of Bangladesh.They abducted tens of hundred time, held them by force in their military baracks for night use.some women may have been raped many times .During the war of Libaration in Bangladesh they were raped,beaten, burned by Pakistani soldiers ,more then 30000 women were raped according to national and international report.
