A large brown bear waits i to be punctured for bile extraction, at a Village, 15 km from Vientiane, Laos.  Bear bile and bear gall bladders are being sold at traditional Chinese medicine shops throughout the world, according to the World Society for the Protection of Animals. Bear populations have been devastated by demand for their parts and caused great suffering by extraction of their bile which is used to treat a variety of ailments from burns to liver disorders.
