The Nam Theun river Dam project, comprised of a 995MW + 75MW hydroelectric project starts the second part of public consultations and involves the resettlement of 1,000 households or approximatively 5,700 peoples. The World Bank decided to support and guarantee the building of a 1.2 billion dollar hydroelectric project after 10 years of deliberations on the controversial plan.
