Nairobi, Kenya. A muslim woman protesting in Uruhu park (Uruhu meens freedom" in Swahili) at the World Social Forum 2007. Religious organisations where very present, especially the Catholic one. A "pro-life" protest also took place at this Word Social Forum and it was not well received by the alter-globalization participants.

For the first time, the World Social Forum took place in Africa. More than 50 000 people from everywhere around the world were joined together for 6 days to assist more than 100 conferences based on the slogan "Another world is possible". The WSF is an annual meeting organized by members of the alter-globalization movement. This forum is also held at the same time than its opponent, the World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland.
