Protesters in Kathmandu demonstrate against continued rule by Nepalese King Gyanendra during a four day general strike called by the seven main opposition parties. They called for a return to democracy and for the King to step down and hold new elections. The massive planned march was halted by a curfew called by the King and any demonstrations were put down by the police with frequent clashes occuring throughout the city. Police sheild themselves from barrage of rocks.
