After being elected in 2003 Leander Texas Mayor John Cowman has become well known for his eccentric behavior such as singing "Get your 'J' on 183A" to the tune of "(Get your kicks on) Route 66" during the 183A toll road ribbon cutting or being introduced during his annual "State of the City Address" to the Pink Floyd song "Money." After hearing that he had won ÒBest Government OfficialÓ in the Hill Country News first "Best of" competition the mayor suggested he dress as George Washington for his portrait.
