Family members of missing Tamils and Tamils shot by suspected paramilitaries supported by the Sri Lankan military beseech soldiers to let them remain outside St. Mary's Church, the site of a meeting between UN Human Rights High Commissioner Louise Arbour, local government human rights officials and various Non-government Organizations in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Friday, Oct. 12, 2007. More than 125 family members of missing or murdered Tamils came to the meeting in the hopes of speaking to the High Commissioner. The Sri Lanka military tried to block their way, forcing them around the corner of a large building so they would be out of view of the High Commissioner's caravan. According to the Jaffna Human Rights Commission 948 persons have gone missing since December 2005, with 684 of those still missing.
