After months of pleading with government officials, residents of Nuevo Amanacer, a "pioneer community" in Caracas, Venezuela, convinced the officials to send in heavy equipment to clear out the piles of trash in front of their homes. Neighbors soon flooded into the new space and joyfully began a game of baseball in celebration.
